UX establishes a "Design First" methodology for product teams.

A UI Framework that all product teams could access and contribute to needed to be created for BMC. This need arose from the wide disparity of front-end technologies, design patterns and UI design implementations, all of which contributed to user frustration, the perception of outdated products and the loss of market share to competitors who were smaller, less feature rich... but had put in major focus on UX.

ADAPT was built using Bootstrap 4 and Angular. The solution was pushed to GitHub and promoted across product teams as an internal open-source resource for everyone to take advantage of and contribute to. A Governance Board was established, comprising cross-functional team leaders from all products, to approve technology stacks and determine its direction for the future.

Company standards and guidelines established how Bootstrap would be customized to align correctly. Interaction design leads reviewed and approved additions required to the included UI components. Visual designers created Sketch component libraries based on ADAPT for high fidelity mockups; and UI developers built all baseline and AngularJS UI components for the framework.

An Agile process was set up and followed for managing epics, user stories and backlog grooming, and the R/R/P process for release planning was adhered to.
